As part of wrapping up the archaeological excavation of Gamlestan in Gothenburg, a project I hade been part of as a film maker in 2016, I was commissioned by Bohusläns Museum to make a guided tour in six episodes.

This was so much fun as we planned to incorporate video from 2016 together with video from 2024 where archaeologist Christina Toreld guides you through the buildings, explaining what information the archaeological result yielded. Seeing what how the place has transformed through almost a decade really puts things in perspective when imagining what it may have looked like 500 year ago.

Along with the videos there was an audioguide and a transcription of that audio. A sign at the centre square triggers the videos by scanning qr-codes. They take you to a site where you can choose from the different mediums. Visit Gamlestans square to watch the videos!
